FIRST TRANSNATIONAL TRAINING OF TRAINERS

Transnational Training of Trainers (TTT1)

The first TTT was held in Davao City last June 10-15, 2019 where the objectives of the Project FORTH and TTT1 were presented. First, to reach a consensus on generic competences that would constitute the teacher profile needed to be effective in challenged contexts. Representatives of each module group met for agreement on the selected competences.

Second, after the generic competences were agreed on, each university cluster presented its initial plans on the implementation of the Master of Arts in Education, Major in Teaching in Challenged Areas, the incorporation of the FORTH in the BA programs and the dissemination initiatives to be implemented. Groups started working on the possible content of the six modules proposed by the project design. Each group presented the competences for the final Profile for teachers working in challenged areas, the six modules were also presented and the module design. These modules* are the following:

Module 1: Profile of teacher in marginal areas
Module 2: Context analysis; defining social impact indicators
Module 3: Creating a learning climate in challenging realities
Module 4: Teaching, learning and assessment in challenged areas, specific methodologies making learning accessible in the context of challenged contexts
Module 5: Creation of relevant, accessible and innovative teaching materials
Module 6: Creating a teaching and learning community among colleagues and local stakeholders and awareness of a global community
